Author:
Chen Zhidong, born in 1951 in Chengdu, is a scholar of art history, painter, calligrapher, and collector. He received the Sichuan Provincial Award for Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences in 1984, and earned a Master’s degree in Classical Chinese Literature from the Institute of Ancient Chinese Literature at Sichuan Normal University in 1987. He has held professional positions at the Yongling Museum in Chengdu and in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Sichuan Normal University. He is currently a member of the China Calligraphers Association, Vice President of the Chinese Youth Calligraphy Theorists Association, a standing council member and adjudicator for the Sichuan Calligraphers Association, as well as a member of the Sichuan Artists Association and a juror for the Sichuan Bashu Arts Foundation Calligraphy Award.
