Wu Yan, a native of Beijing, Ph.D. in management, sci- fiction writer, senior sci-fiction research scholar; professor and director of Academic Methodology and Cultural Creativity Teaching and Research Department at Southern University of Science and Technology; former director and professor of Science Fiction and Creative Education Research Center, College of Arts and Letters, Beijing Normal University, deputy director of Chinese Children’s Literature Research Center, deputy director of Science Literature Committee of Chinese Science Writers Association, and president of World Chinese Science Fiction Association. Since 1991, he set up China’s first science fiction literature course. In 2003, he and Wang Quangen founded China’s first science fiction literature master’s program. Since 1978 he has published more than 30 works, including two science fiction novels, five collections of stories and novellettes, and three anthologies edited and translated by him. Apart from these, his articles are more than a million words and collections edited by him more than millions of words. Some of his works have been translated into English, Japanese and Italian and published. From 1986 to 1999, he won the Chinese Galaxy Award for Science Fiction for three times. His works include Adventure of the Mind and The Fatal Sixth Day, as well as academic compositions Psychology of Leadership, Fundamentals of Educational Management and On Science Fiction Literature. He has won the National Book Award, the Best Works Award of the Publicity Department, CCCPC, the National Science Popularization Award of the China Association for Science and Technology, and the Chinese Galaxy Award.
